Flying Miata Flywheel holes not tight
When I put a bolt through the holes in my FM Flywheel, they are not tight, they are lose. I can move them from side to side.
The installation instructions sates that:
"The holes in our flywheels may be very tight - this could be the coating and/or dried Loctite on the bolts (which should be cleaned off with a wire brush). If cleaning the bolts doesn’t work, you can thread the bolt through the coating, or gently clean up the coating. The holes need to be tight so don’t drill them larger than is absolutely necessary."
I check the OEM flywheel, and it's similar, loose, not tight.
Should I be worried?
I did use a wirewheel to quickly remove the old loctite / sealer on the flywheel bolts.
