From what i understand five-O injectors are just as good as the ID's. Also, from what i understand they're both just bosch injectors. Just the ID's are much much more expensive.
I put 750cc five-O injectors with the idea that i'd be making no more than 300hp on e85. Getting it tuned to idle takes a while, but once it's done it will idle baby butt smooth.

From what I've been informed, no. The fiveo are plug and play down to the connector. However, the larger size EV14s aren't available with the Sumitomo connector. This means that fiveo had to get smaller EV14 injectors and bore the hell out of them.

They were, however, plug-n-play mechanically. Five-o machined down the plastic housing on the upper part to fit the Miata rail, and then they dropped in with no spacers of adapters. The ones I had certainly bore little resemblance to the ID injectors of today.

Reverant, in your opinion do the pros of five-oh injectors' PNP connectors outweigh the cons of being bored out?
The FICs sound more ideal for performance since they are native injectors (not bored) but I'm unclear on how they wire up with the provided adapter.
I'll be buying one of the two pretty soon so any insight is appreciated!

Thanks for all the input guys. It certainly would seem to me that it makes sense to upgrade with the ECU if you ever think you might upgrade in the future. Especially if you're like me, and would need to spend $$ on a dyno to get a tune. Not much sense doing that twice if you don't have to!

Been a while since I looked at their catalog- I didn't even realize they carried the EV14s. (Makes sense.)
Looking at the website, they don't even seem to have the injectors I bought anymore, which also makes sense.

The FIC also work very well, obviously. If you get the pigtail, you need to solder the pigtail to the injector harness. If you get the PNP adapters ($60), then its totally PNP.
Out of habit of getting the best parts available when my engine is at stake, I would get the FICs.

Also, sorry Rev. The video you posted must have been FICs or FiveOs rather than IDs, my mistake.
