Default turbo 1.6 how much base timming?

i have a turbo miata home made set up!

1.6
t25
fmu
walbro 255hp
intercooler

7psi

always using premium 91 gas

im running 4 deg base timming at idle.

my question is i want to increase the timming to get more power cuz it feels like its too slow for 7 psi on this car/ set up.

how much timming do you guys run and what type of set up you guys have..

How are you going to adjust the timing with the stock computer?

Dude he has a 1.6 which indicates he has a 89-93. Those years you can adjust the timming with the camsensor. You should also be able to adjust the 94-95 as well but I may be mistaken.

Have a great day,
Jared

Welcome to the retarded thread of the century. What fuel pressure are you running? Stock injectors? Like long walks on the beach? Like bandaids much? I would say 6-8 would suffice. Getting det cans would help. If you detonate, you can hear it. If you want a mans car, get a megasquirt. I really don't want to tell you a number and have you nuke your ****. 4 deg btdc at base (assuming you are setting your "timming" correctly) seems low cuz most kits have you set to 6. Thanks for sucking. Have a nice day.

Edit: In your shitty first post, you note that you have only 6psi but 5 Deg btdc. Make an intro post asshat. Read the stickies. Don't suck. So which is it. Are you lying about the amount of boost you are running because it makes you feel like your **** is bigger? Or did you turn the "timming" down because your a fagatron and decided you needed more boost on your shitty engine management?

okay enough whit the hate!!

my intro post was with those settings on my car. i turned up the boost and i have having detoniont so i retarded the timming then i got a walbro cuz the stock pump was not good enough. im running a shitty fmu that is 12:1 ratio. i used a "T" fitting at the fmu and a ebay boost control **** to "bleed" pressure from the top of the fmu hoping to hit somwhere in 6-8:1 ratio on the fmu. as i read on a forum that is about the range where you want it at.

and one more question i set my timming idle without jummping the diagnostic connector im gonna set it correctly and see at it is.

im not new to turbo and cars. ive been messing with hondas for a while before i got a miata. here is a turbo set up on a 97 civic i built

Name: IMG00544.jpg
Views: 65
Size: 94.7 KB

Name: IMG00546.jpg
Views: 70
Size: 114.9 KB

this set up was tuned on 450 dsm injectors and obd1 conversion and tuned on crome pro with a wideband on the street by me.

i should really build a det can tuned too many hondas with out it! i know what detonation is i can hear it. im sure i cant hear the very small amounts of it (the warning signs) i should build one and be more legit.

any form of detonation monitoring is a smart choice in my opinion. there is such a thing as inaudible detonation, which cannot be heard with the human ear. so even though you may think your previous setups were not detonating, they might have been. just you couldn't hear it.

This thread is full of fail. I don't even respect someone that really cares about hp or hard something pulls without having engine management. MS is cheap and easy. That's the answer to your thread.

I think you will find most here have boosted cars, no not stolen. Many have learned the hard way by blowing their engines. They have told you and I will tell you... For your car a MegaSquirt is the way to go. Now don't tell me what it costs$$$, just blow your engine. Then you you tell us what it cost you to replace or rebuild. David

I guess I think anything under 1k is cheap for EM. because when I first started turboing cars, it was 3-4grand and took days to install. I wonder how you think I have never boosted a car? Also you just posted pics of a turbo charged civic on a miata form and in of the pics your obviously jerking the blow off valve off. Then you wonder why people come in here pop a squat and **** on your thread then use it for TP.
