Be the first to put a gas turbine helicopter engine in a miata. That could be a lot of fun.

Now that would be sick as hell but the guy with the g35 wants too much for the car. so still looking at the s2000.

Corky's actually building one, it looked pretty damn good.

Then they are going to put twin turbos on it. I have not idea how they're going to pull that off.

i do have 2 questions the 6 speed trany wich years and what clutch need to be run and has any one every used the Toga High Volume Oil Pump. if it is not alot of work i might jus got that way and not do the s2000 swap. i could pull the f20c swap but just remembered i have not had the car inspected the car was bought out of state so if i put the f20c motor in it will never pass. the look over test.

Do you search anything, or just expect all of us to do it and report back to you. There is countless threads on clutch and transmission on here.....go to the top of the screen and click SEARCH!

I hear the Navy cutting back, and maybe you can get a nuclear reactor to power that 99

LOL you guys are mean man!!!
hey dude listen if you lighten up a bit, you will find that any forum you are on will have some sarasm, and some will be helpful.
Any way I am in the process of doing a bridge ported, rotary sway. with a To4e turbo.
I am doing it in my garage with a very small budget. I have only 2000 in parts and 1700 in car.
There is some fab work I need to do, but other than that I am almost finished the project, and should be running in about a month or so. If you have a shop this type of stuff will really only be limited to your skills and ambition, dont let any one fool you about cost, as you can control cost by doing most of it yourself, and fabbing your own brackets etc. Also, your choice of engine is entirely up to you , but understand that in most cases you may have to go standalone or just plain ole carb to avoid unneccessary work and complications.

He isn't being mean your being lazy!! SEARCH.... is your best friend then people won't have to be mean.......:loser:

The biggest problem with the S2000 engine is the oil pump and pickup. I've yet to see a good solution to addressing this. All the swaps I've seen compromise the steering geometry and at the price of about 2" of ground clearance. Not a hurdle you'll have to face with the rotary.

Deatschwerks 03-23-2009 06:41 PM

Id like to see the Rotary swap when you are done.

dustinb 03-23-2009 06:49 PM

Edit. Nevermind.

sixshooter 03-23-2009 10:36 PM

Rotary,
What is a "sway" in your terminology?

P51,
It is "you're."
As in "You're welcome."

HUH? dude why are you quoting me and saying I am being lazy? this isnt my thread i was just sharing my input here...? maybe you jumped in mid thread and dont even know who posted the original thread......maybe a little searching on your part will be in order?:jerkit:

anyway I put in my previous post rotary sway..my bad i meant rotary swap...its hard to teach guys stuff and type in between their questions..( i know I shouldnt do it)

the swap is almost done...need to do some subframe adjustments , dont want to butcher it,. so I may cut and replate or if I have time do a complete chromolly tube sube frame.....or maybe get it set up then do the sub frame over after, like next winter..
here are some pics from last week but i have gotten much more done since that....

terribly sorry man, my apologies.. but the SEARCH button is every body's friend, just to recap lol

m2cupcar 03-24-2009 04:20 PM

RX- are you running the big tII trans? Definitely build a tube frame front subframe, and then tell me how much it would sell for. ;) I keep looking at that clutch and thinking that might be another solution to me bolting up an R trans to my FE3. It's just hard to believe that there's not enough load on those pressure plate "stilts" to make them fail. What's the story behind it?

rxmiata 03-24-2009 07:05 PM

the clutch is a custom made one it has a carbon fibre disk, and a cevlar disk, with a floating titanium pressure plate..(the very grey plate) the actual Belleville spring is on its own and thus requires very little strenght in torsion, as most of the load is under tension....I got this clutch because the engineer I dealt with worked with me to develope a smooth transitioning clutch NOT a ON/OFF such as tilton offers.....To be very honest I havent tested it as yet so when I do it will be a matter of break or hold...LOL

As for trans..my first plan was to run my Seanze straight cut dog box, but it is in the caribbean in my race car, the spline count for that is NA rx7, so my clutch plate is the NA rx7.....in order to test it I am going to run Miata box, modified for the Rotary engine.....then when I am certain of its capabilities I will buy 2 new clutches with TII applications.....

rxmiata 03-24-2009 07:10 PM

P5...no worries mate, its all good...lol
I usually dont do anything with out proper research, even if it means forum searching...LOL how do you think i found this thread..LOL
I like to help other guys out , because I know how doing something new can be a step one doesnt want to take unless they get some kind of confidence boost from others that it is possible to do...or even practical

Yep I have seen it too and it does fit pretty well though there is not much room left. Twin turbos?! :eek5: Did not hear that. That will be amazing.
