Sorry to bump this old thread, but I have the same issue. My car is '93 and timing marks have moved ~8°. Will it keep slipping or is it going to fell apart in any moment from now on?

Probably keep slipping but gradually get worse and fail.

Just get a new one from a Mazda dealer.

Another option would be a solid damper such as the SuperMiata. I'm not sure if they fit 1.6s though.
