The OP, sounds like a scammer.
Wants to put a 94/97 motor in a customer car and tell them it's a 99/00?
That's what I'm getting out of this story...
And then says "haha" when describing engine damage? That's not funny, so obviously he don't give a **** about the cars owner and is only here to get information on how to benefit his shop in screwing people out of their money. I know it's a stretch and I may be dead wrong, but read the thread...wtf?

yeah dead wrong on that one...if you know me down here then you know i do the best miata work in ft lauderdale...just trying to get info on a possible free swap on a car i bought with a blown engine was going to replace it and drive it with the free old bp engine but i just got back from alabama with an awesome 99 engine that i am swapping in the car instead sooo no scamming here

Okay well then why exactly does it matter if it looks like a 94-97 engine is in the car? You have to be trying to fool someone, either whoever you sell it to or possibly some race officials...
