If you run a knock sensor, please answer this:
Do YOU ever pick up knock around 4500-5500RPM?
Everyone says that is just "miata engine noise range" BUT if E85 miata engines DO NOT KNOCK then that means there is actual detonation at that range for us dinosaur gas folk.

????? I think the question and the reasoning is pretty clear-
If your knock sensor on your e85 powered motor picks up knock in that RPM range, that will validate the whole theory that our motors are noisy in that range, and no actual knock is occurring.

So you're looking for validation of some garbage theory that says your motor isn't actually knocking at 4500-5500rpm because "its noisy", even though your knock sensor says it is?

Yes. Personally, I don't believe in the "our motors are noisy" theory. Indicated knock on E85 or lack thereof should prove if it is the motor or detonation.

It is still present on my car and has been since the 1st day I started using e85.
I know for a fact my car is not knocking
Without fine tuning and verification with det cans/etc the stock nb sensor is absolutely useless. Period.

You are asking people with different ECUs, and therefore different sensor filtering, and then making an inxcredibly dangerous assumption based on that irrelevant data.
You've been here long enough to know that if you get snarky comments, the question you asked is probably dumb.

The fuel you are burning is probably not going to make that noise go away. It is just noise from the engine mechanical components, most of it from the lifters IIRC. It is not 'knock' but engine noise that a knock sensor can mistake for knock.
