Super excited about this. A k24/20a hybrid is still tempting. But the fact that this is st4 legal is awesome.

Any idea when it will hit the site with pricing? Are these only available as complete kits for the time being?

Also, I'd suggest promoting the fact that the hydraulic throwout bearing was developed with QuarterMaster; myself and a few others I've discussed this with all paused at the thought of a one-off hydraulic TB made in-house by a swap company (no offense) but adding a more reputable clutch company to that would go a long way to assuage fears I think...
Yes, engine placement is the same. The K24Z3 has a slightly different valve cover, so we'll have a specific valve cover option for it on the site soon.

Pricing is in the blog post - $4295, with a target of being able to complete the whole swap for $6-7k depending on your preferences and abilities. I'll make a point to hype up the Quarter Master partnership, that's not a bad idea. I think there is a market for the hydraulic bearing all by itself. I plan on running them in all our cars from now on. The pedal feel is more linear and even easier to modulate, and the bearing is a lot higher quality too.

Yes, as soon as the kit is on the site you'll be able to order an A/C kit with either K24A2 or K24Z3 brackets. All other parts will be the same.

Thank you, the goal is to be much more than a swap company. Our K swap put us on the map but we're really just getting started now and we have a lot of other cool projects in the works.

Yup, K24Z3 + boost + ZF + Getrag should be the new recipe to make huge reliable power without adding weight to the chassis. We already have a turbo manifold done and tested for a K20A/K24A, but a machined turbo adapter still needs to be made for the K24Z3. Reliability and cost should make it a really attractive option.

Just priced candidate engines and trannies. It is really easy to get a motor and transmission under 100k miles for $900. Getting an exhaust adapter for a EFR 7064/7163 sized turbo would be perfect for a 2.4L Honda. Not sure if a V-Band or a T3 flange would be a better choice. If you were to offer an exhaust adapter, I would immediately purchase a full setup from Kmiata. Full swap kit, tranny adapter, electronics, exhaust...the whole shebang.

I'm serious about this. When you guys finish that turbo adapter piece for the K24Z3 and confirm a good fitament with the stock Miata subframe, we can have the funds immediately available to Kmiata within two or three business days for a large order. I'm interested in getting one of the first production kits.

I'll give you guys a call or email this upcoming week if you are
available to talk.

Sounds great, we will 100% be making this happen so you can plan on it. We'll be going with a V-band adapter for both the EFR 7163 and Garrett G25-660. Call or email anytime!

Does this change anything re: compatibility for swap in a RHD car? Vaguely remember headers and steering rack were the issues, but this might solve some of those?

Yup, mounts will clear a RHD car no problem. Our downpipe won't, but making one that does is far less work than making a custom header. So you're 95% there with this kit.

Asking for a friend. If you already have an ECU that can run the K24Z3 crank trigger scheme, can you skip the CNC front cover and use the stock covers? Would there be another other issues with the kit components?

Yes, absolutely. Once we put this on the site we may make the front cover as an add-on item. No issue running this on a Haltech or something. We'll also offer support for a drive by wire throttle body.

Nah, 43s in E trim. Last June, when we had the whole crew there. I haven't figured out how to completely use aero apparently.

Drive faster than you think you can.

I can’t remember what lap times we’ve done...apparently

Quickest way is to put a faster driver in it for one lap. Compare your data/video from the same conditions. Look at min corner speeds mainly. Mins that match the faster driver tell you there isn't much left in that turn. Mins that are more significantly off tell you how much sooner you can release the brakes.
Lots of other details but it boils down to just releasing the brakes a bit sooner. Knowing where to do that helps with confidence, the only thing currently holding you back.

sorry for the thread drift David..

They made a post a couple days ago on the Kmiata Facebook page with pictures of them cranking out CNC'd parts. Racks of them. It also said to look out for the pre-order to possibly go live this month.

Yup, the kits are in production now and I'm aiming to have the pre-order live next week. More updates coming soon.
