I hate to be the one to bump a 2 year old thread - but this is certainly relevant to my interests (and maybe others).

That said, Falcon (i believe you're still around) - or anyone else that has had this issue - did the catch can fix the issue? Working on a catch can now, and want to run the breather for the catch can somewhere to the rear of the car.

Since I had this issue previously ive fixed many things - but she's still stinky. I've fixed all my oil leaks, I've fixed my POS greddy drain line, and I've run a line from the venting VC port to much lower in the engine bay with the filter(instead of coming straight off the VC with it) - to no avail at this time.

Next idea is catch can > VTA with a rubber line running somewhere to behind the cabin and a filter attached. I'll bump this thread if i figure it out.

BUMP! I've run both VC lines > a catch can, and run the vent on the catch can to the rear of the car.

STILL after any high load, in boost pull, i get a faint oil smell.

Motor was just out of the car, all new gaskets everywhere. I've looked it over more and cant see any oil coming from anywhere. Am I crazy to think my turbo is making this smell? no exhaust leaks I can see, no oil on the block or turbo area, no pcv system to worry about.

The reason i suspect my turbo is because back when I was running the stock(HORRIBLE) greddy return line, i had pulled over and popped the hood after a hard boosted run and saw oil vapor coming off the turbo. Any way the stock crappy return line backing up blew out a turbo seal or something? The turbo boosts great, didn't have any oil in the intercooler or charge pipes, and is generally clean and perfect.

I'm kind of at a loss here so if anyone has any ideas drop em here please. Thanks.

EDIT: AFAIK there are NO exhaust leaks. If there were, I would think i would smell exhaust from time to time, this is a recently put together setup and it was doing the same thing with my old exhaust which im sure wasnt leaking as well. I'm going to go over the cars exhaust plumbing with soapy water on a cold startup and check everything for exhaust leaks to double check, but I really don't smell exhaust at all, its more of a burning oil smell coming from the bay.
