Default QMax Coolant Reroute

For the people with the QMax reroute did you have to modify the EGR tube or have to remove it?

It's super close, but it fits. You don't have to remove it. I think you might have to disconnect it to install it, I can't remember.

Did you have to tweak the EGR at all or just disconnect it.

I didnt have to touch my EGR tube originally to install but I went ahead and removed it, welded it shut anyway.

Mazda wasn't exactly precise with their manufacturing of the EGR tubes. On some cars it fits without modification, on others it requires tweaking.

On my NA its very close but I did not have to tweak it at all. I did loosen it up while installing the re-route hosing though to give me more room while installing (just let it hang there).

Per their instructions, I got a small piece of wood and used a hammer to "manipulate" the EGR pipe a little lower. After that, it cleared perfectly.

You shouldn't have to tweak the EGR tube on any kits shipped after April 2019. A bit more clearance on main housing. Just loosen fittings a bit so pipe will "jiggle" a bit. Install Qmax then retighten EGR.

I removed the EGR and during the re-installation I slightly pressed down on EGR while tightening it. It's close but it clears even with some insulation.
