Im going to be making some spark plug wire for some AEM ignition coils i will be fitting. Something i wondered, do modern ignition systems use the ceramic resistor that can be found in plugs caps to stop interference? The reason i ask is id like to use an ngk plug cap but i know these have a resistor built in. I didnt want to fit them for the resistor to cause issues.

The plugs im planning on using are these, if it makes a difference:

Flyin' Miata : Engine/Drivetrain : Fuel and Ignition : NGK race spark plugs

dont use resistorless plugs.

 

I run resistorless plugs on regular wires. No issues.

FYI those plugs are less than $3 each.

edit: I should also mention that I run LS2 truck coils and they had a much bigger effect on my spark than spark plug and spark wire choice.

 

Thanks guys, the link was just the quickest one i could find, i wouldn't be getting them from FM.

If i was using normal plugs would the 5ohm ceramic resistor in the plug caps cause issues, or would i be better off just using some normal boots?
