Default Supertech pistons with dot on wrong side?

The dot on the top of the piston should be towards the front of the motor right?

If so are my pistons marked incorrectly? Note the dot at the top of the picture and the larger valve reliefs on the EXHAUST side (if following the dot convention).

Hmm. I don't remember my pistons having a dot.

Looking back through pictures i see a very very small dot on the top of the piston but not where the dot on your piston is.

Your Supertechs don't look like mine did in several ways. Mine had a coating and had different surface contours.

My Supertech's don't look like that either. FWIW 8.6 C/R 84mm. Supertech on right, stock on left.

Are you sure they're Supertechs? Maybe they're Wisecos?

My new ones (9:1) have the dots at the front. I don't recall if my old ones had dots or not, and the photos I have of them it's all covered in carbon.

Hard to see it in the picture above, but they're marked "supertech" in the oval. I'm gonna have to assume they just put the dot on the wrong side. Ah quality control
