I have a front end now!!!
Finally I feel like I'm making progress... Got the nose put back on and some other tidbits. Finish fab'ing some heatsheilds for the turbo and the hood can go on. Next step is the interior, fab a center console, seats, etc. Still need to find a headlight cover that is vented to feed the airbox.
So far:
rebuilt the engine with Wiseco pistons and ETD rods
six speed tranny with 6spd starter and plate
rebuilt rear with 3.6 gears
AEM wideband o2
Mishimoto radiator with slim fans
door bars
frame rails
fuel rail
new downpipe
carbontrix extraction vent on hood
ACT Pro 9lb flywheel, pressure plate and clutch
new clutch slave and braided line that replaces that curly q thing
added a oil temp gauge
all new hoses, vacuum lines, belts, seals, everything
cleaned up all wiring harnesses and wrapped
replaced power steering with a new manual rack
new balljoints, tie rod ends, poly bushings throughout
new pads on the Wilwoods
new coil, plugs, wires
Vary splitter
I'm glad I didn't keep receipts, the total $$ is pretty scary....

Very clean setup! I love that Garage Vary splitter...just wish they didn't cost so damn much.
I have a quick question for ya...I'll be running a FM2 intercooler/piping setup like yours, but I've got a cxracing/godspeed/mishimoto rad with the stock fans. I'm gonna have to buy slim fans to get that piping to fit, aren't I?

Easy, got a 6 speed from a wrecked 04 MS in Texas. I went ahead and bought the 6spd starter and engine/tranny plate through Mazda Motorsports but you can do it with the stock stuff too, just have 1 hole you cant bolt through. I didn't like the idea of an extra empty bolt hole.

OK, here's some pics
Got the extractor vent installed on the hood. Still need to fab heat shields around turbo and finish air box. I didn't like the huge gap around the intake pipe at the air filter box so cut some rubber out and riveted it in. Flexes with the engine but keeps a nice seal. I have a vented headlight cover on order to feed it. I lowered the steering a bit and will be fabbing a center console out of aluminum and black carpet. Going to try guncote on the aluminum center console. I use it to refinish rifles and it's really tough, heat resistant, etc. You sandblast, airbrush it on, and then bake it in the over. I'm also going to move the link down lower under the radio. Like that fancy fuel line brace? Only took two tries to get it right! If you notice the inspection sticker you can see it's been off the road for some time....
