Default pulsation damper

I am installing a dual feed fuel rail on a 99. I am wondering about plumbing straight to the hard line coming from the tank or do I need to keep the pulsation damper in the system that is on the frame rail. I moved the one on the OEM fuel rail to the dual feed rail, but don't know if the one on the frame rail has to be kept? Thanks

Also curious. Was just getting ready to ask the same thing. I the thing really required? I painted mine because is was looking nasty. Paint didn't turn out well. Really don't want it anymore, but if it's needed I'll strip and redo.

If you switch to a return style fuel system you can can it. Otherwise I'd keep it on a returnless system because it does serve a function.

I just deleted 1 of the pulsation dampeners a week or two ago. See my build thread. Works fine no ill effects that I see so far

18psi's build thread link/page.

Took me a minute to find it. I see where he deleted it and I now plan to do the same. So deleting the one on the inside of the fender is okay? No other mods it seems. I have the FM double rail from the other owner. Does that make any difference? Basically change just the one damper and nothing else and the world is still rainbows I guess.

I installed the FM rail and went ahead and kept the lower damper in the system. I just wanted to clean things up but decided to just remove the line from the damper that goes under the intake manifold and hooked the Russell adaptor up to the line out of the lower damper. Everything is good.

I just talked to Brandon at FM and he said they have been leaving the frame rail damper out and just using the one on the fuel rail.

Haha also called them about line and asked the same question. On the big fuel lines they take it out and don't notice any issues. Didn't strait vouch for the stock sized lines, but sees no reason to have issues as long as the one in the rail is left there.

But guys, Leafy said you should leave em in because he figured it out with his genius reasoning and theories. Stop being stupid and applying real world knowledge and experience to things and start hypothesizing about everything.

I forgot there was one on the fender and the fuel rail. And re-reading the op, I should have been paying more attention to reading than watching ****.
