Here's a manifold I built recently. It works pretty well.

Well here is my first try at fabricating and tig welding. I've never welded before, not even mig or anything. I've always wanted to learn so I finally picked up an AHP AlphaTig 200x at the beginning of this month and have been teaching myself since. I think for less than a month of welding I'm doing decent. I really wanted to build a new manifold and a full 3" downpipe for my Miata so this is what I've got so far. I'm almost done welding up the entire manifold and these pics are some of my better welds so far. The hardest part so far has been the merge collector. It took me a whole weekend to get it done. This is my first time welding stainless too. I wanted to mess around with some pie cuts too so the last pic is a test part out of 3" 16gauge, 304 stainless. It is entirely fusion welded and I think it came out pretty good. Anyways hopefully I'll get better and better to the point where I can start making and selling manifolds and downpipes and other little things on the side as I really enjoy doing this stuff so far. I've done some aluminum too and I actually find it easier than mild steel.

Yeah Phil, I can weld it.
But these guys are a whole nother level. It's like I know how to play the piano, and then there's Mozart.

This was your first time welding? Doesn't look like it at all! Looks pretty darn good!
