You can put whatever lights you want to on yours.
Here's the taillight we'll be offering. The outer ring is the tail and has a nice even glow in person. The inner section is the brake/turn light and is seriously bright. We have the appropriate electronics as well. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1383761252 Lights off. Available with a red center as well, they light up the same way. I haven't been able to get a good photo of just the tail ring lit up. https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hpho...05587565_n.jpg |
It'd be extra special if those were recessed into the bodywork somewhat. I guess we'll have to see on Friday.
|
They are not frenched, as the bodywork is not designed around a specific taillight set. If you're handy with fibreglass, you could flush-mount anything you want. Remember, this is still a kit car. You build it your way.
The ones we're using are pretty close to flush, they only stick out about 1/8" or so. |

You can look at the wrangler tail conversion lights. Very common mod actually. I've seen them almost flush.

Yeah, the lights on my boat trailer are more interesting than those. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...easer-logo-jpg EDIT: What Keith is offering is better. |

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1383762454 The newest rendering wasn't really intended to showcase the taillights, but that's what everyone's latched on to. Pity, as it's both inaccurate (for us) and not really the point. |
I got it!!! You're going to be offering wallpapers!!!

Here's a cool comparison image I just got from the design engineer. It shows the Base frame (silver) with the Sport (yellow) and Race (red+yellow) additions.

Good catch. I'll fix that on our site and flog the fellow who did the rendering.
Actually, they should be silver. Those tubes are on all the frame variations. Unless there's a change in spec with the Race kit, let me confirm. |

Rollers!
Flyin' Miata : Exocet kits : Rollers https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1383783884 Basically, we'll take a Miata, strip it down for you, install the drivetrain and suspension in the chassis, and hand it over to you. We've done the messy heavy lifting, and you get to do the detail work. This detail work takes a while, which means it's expensive to pay someone else to do it. But you won't need any special tools - and more importantly, you won't need space for three cars as you tear one apart, pile it up and build another. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1383783884 Prices depend on the specs, but a fairly typical one will run $15,000 plus the powdercoat cost. That includes the Exocet Sport kit, a good donor (we're using a 1999 as an example), shipping to the FM shop plus all the labor to tear everything apart and build the roller. We'll pack all the bits you'll need to finish the job in the frame. The price is for stock everything. If you want to upgrade the suspension, brakes, radiator, etc then it's easy to do. We can also do a clutch change or maintenance on the engine while the whole thing's apart. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1383783884 |
Am I imagining seeing a $14k pricepoint by you guys for this service?
|
$15k for the car in the pictures (with stock suspension) plus the powdercoat cost.

4" round taillights are an industry standard for trailers and trucks, including the grommet mounts used in the above picture. The Wrangler guys are just using them because they're readily available, there's nothing Wrangler-specific about them.

Hopefully no one noticed the pedalbox isn't in that render, either...whoops. Yeah, the rear downtubes are exactly the same for the Base, Sport, and Race. 1.75" x 0.095" high-elongation-spec DOM. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1383839703 http://exocet.us/engineering/img/ExoUSGen3Frame.jpg |

Front bodywork = OK....an improvement
Rear bodywork = OMG barrrrfff!?!!? ??? |
It goes from stealth fighter up front to fanny pack in the back.:giggle:
|
My opinion agrees. My opinion prefers a round a$$.
|
A corvette or a mobydick ass would better flow with the front end.
