Default Finally some good results (1.6L IM)

Finally got brad on the dyno to see what his 1.6L BEGi IM did.

It lost a little on the low-end during spool, but everything above 5.5K was an improvement. You can see the boost plots for each pull so you can see even with slightly less boost it's making a bunch more top-end.

Its running around 20-24* spark angle at 17psi which slowly drops to 16psi at redline, no matter what we couldn't cure this, he needs a new wastegate actuator.

His final numbers were 261rwhp and 221rwtq @ 16.1psi, not bad for a 1.6L with just a built block.

Setup = 2871, log manifold, 3" turbo back exhaust, BEGi IM, 70mm TB, .020" overbore, 8.8:1 CR pistons.

Sweet! Is this roughly the same as your setup?

Mine has a larger plenum, slightly shorter runners (without the step change) and stock TB. I was hoping to run today as well and redo it, but I didn't receive a part I was waiting for.

This is the one on Brad's car:

It's 100% fabricated, unlike mine.

For starting at less than 250whp, that is pretty good. What do you think the torque loss was due to?

That's the before/after of the IM/TB combo. You can see it held torque a lot better than before, it only lost 20 tq from peak, compared to 60 tq from before. With a little more timing and if his wastegate could maintain the boost past 6300RPM, I'm sure he could hit closer to 280.

The boost pressure is forcing the flapper open just after 5500rpm. Get an adjustable wastegate and tighten it to like 13+ psi and it will hold all day long. Then he can finally push it up to like 20psi or whatever the max will be on pump.

I'm using a begi 15 psi actuator, with my hallman it holds at 16 psi all the way to red line. Did the same when I tried 19.
