Default I'm desperately searching for the water-temp gauge swap thread

where is this ******? Its the thread where an auto-meter gauge replaces the stock water temp gauge.

Once we find it, please delete this thread. I have the link saved, but its dead.

Yes, I'm actually working on my car today, amazing.

thanks, but the link is not in that thread. The thread also discussed the red Ferrari challenge seat in the Miata. I can't seem to find it.

Aw, hell. We went though all the trouble to put in the new search engine, and you're not even trying.

Here you are, Labius Maximus: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t29181/

(and the link in the thread is still dead.)

That's the right car, but not the right thread on the gauge install. I could have sworn the write-up was on this forum.

How much of a writeup do you need?

1: Buy autometer gauge.
2: Remove and disassemble factory gauge cluster.
3: Remove glass and bezel from Autometer gauge.
4: Cut holes in ****.
5: ???
6: Re-assemble.
7: Profit.

Looks like a standard 52mm Ultra-Lite or Phantom series gauge to me. The next size down in AM's catalog is 38mm, and those are available only in the AutoGauge family, which look completely different:

You could always ask Leatherface. Here's his:
