Rick, thank you, on two points:
1) You seem to have covered pretty nearly all the concerns I have, for quality reasons. (And are in a position to lay this down as law.)
2) I can now say, "I've seen staff here write longer posts than me!"
The only other issue is the 10 post thing, but a minimum post requirement is a valid necessity, as a technical solution.

I have a new litmus test for noob aboose. abuse. If there's more than 2 pages of "new posts" when I come here in the morning, some jackass is posting drivel.
clearly the 10 post limit isn't working and it is violated every day.
maybe letting them post and buy and sell **** is the way to go and we can just ridicule them in ONE thread instead of 11.
