Look at the very beginning of his build thread. That was his work, cutting the engine bay for his original FM turbo/manifold with a sawzall. It's supposed to be a small 1"x3" strip of metal.

My generous trim job actually came in very useful with my new turbo setup. The whole things slides in no problem- the turbo/manifold assembly can bolt up outside of the car and then drop in and bolt to the head thanks to all the awesome extra space.
