Default why no FM forum?

I guess miata.net pretty much covers FM stuff. But I've had trouble getting anyone to respond to some of my questions concerning rehabing my used FM2 kit.

I'm not having any specific problems right now. I had a question about how to hook up the boost control solenoid but got an answer in the DIY forum. I bought a used complete FM2 kit. The kit was kind of hacked up on the removal. Right now I'm going thru all the parts and rehabing them. I just got the injectors back from RC. I took the exhaust manifold and turbine housing to Replika Maschenin for porting and thermal barrier coating. I had to buy a new down pipe but a friend of mine had a brand new one that he gave me for $300.00. The previous owner had welded the slip joint together and hack sawed it apart for removal. The new down pipe was also dropped off at Replika to smooth the welds and coat with thermal barrier coating. Replika is building me a stage 2 head w/ full port and polish, oversize valves and heavy duty valve springs. On Monday I'll be dropping off my intercooler piping and valve cover off for powder coating and I have to find a shop to ultrasonicly clean my intercooler so I can have that coated with a thermal dispersant. I also got my high flow cat, Vishnu fuel rail and single turbo exhaust from FM but got the AEM WBO2 from Jegs for $280.00 instead of the $440.00 FM sells it for. My living room is starting to look like the FM catalog. The only thing I'm really waiting on now is the Mocal oil cooler and sandwich plate adapter I bought from Racer's Wholesale. I'm sure once I get going on the install I'll have more questons but I don't expect to start getting stuff back from the machine shop until early March.

I am so jealous of your thermal coatings and machining. My pockets aren't that deep though right now, I need to graduate already so I can afford such things. I also bought my AEM WB outside of a retailer, got mine for $260, $440 is CRAZY expensive for a WB. I'd like to hear what kind of temps you end up with after all the thermal coatings.

I know its an old thread... BUT

just because a turbo system starts out as an FM kit doesn't make it any less of a turbo system and possible DIY setup as another, correct? In fact I bought a FM Voodoo I kit mid last year for less than $2300 and am DIY'ing my own IC and planning on Emanage or such.
