Anybody else get a little bored? Great race, and from where I was, zero lag, which was very nice.

We need some kind of handicap, is there nothing in the game setup to allow this? By the end we all had a steady 2000ft between all of us.

It'd be cool to be able to add weight but there wouldn't be any way to verify that and there's no simple way to add just 50lbs.

What about giving 10 or 20 point penalties to each successive place?

1st-30
2nd-20
3rd-10
Hustler-100

How they take the points away is up to them, as long as they're only removing parts. AKA, can't use street tires for -40, and then add turbo for +20. Then after 2 rounds of finishing below 3rd, a penalty can be taken off. Might be hard to keep track of.

I more or less trust people to be on the honor system around here. If the win with a cheater car, it's just another penalty.

Thank you for your input Karl, but I do not care for socialized racing.

Hrmm that seems like a neat idea curly. The only downside to it that I can see of would be if you got a new guy coming into the race and doesn't like getting pwned by the slower guy down the straight, lol.

Why not drive faster? Seriously, if these guys aren't cheating they should not be penalized. I feel the same way about adding weight in "real" racing.

Have people install a cretin kind of wheel on there car as a penalty. You know how much the wheel weighs, so you can keep track of the penalty. Or you could make people remove aero.

Adding and substracting mods is also depending on the car. We may not have aero on one tune or we may already have a turbo, etc.

I like the idea of adding smaller things like +10-20 hp to the slower field and adding weight to the faster field. Wheel weight may not be enough to make a difference. Guess we could figure it out for each car.

We could have a delay of start time, almost like bracket racing! I'm not sure if you can do this in the game settings, but we could do it manually, based off qualifying times

I've done this in forza 3. It works well if everybody knows when they are supposed to go, and if everybody pays attention to the same timer (i.e. the race timer, not the lap timer). IIRC it got a little complicated.

It's very true. If this were real life, I'd drive as fast as I could, and take whatever prize money I could get from my position.

But with no prize money, and no other "I must win!" incentive, might as well have some fun. Good passes, 3 wide in a braking zone, bump drafting, the like.

I agree it's very hard to implement. Only thing I could think of to make it "easy" is some kind of de-tuned car for wheel users. They consistently our top threeish.

Just setup different run groups with different handicaps.
You do know you handicap by power, front grip, rear grip and other things iirc.

Has lag been a problem, and a handicap system would be nice.

Supposedly the e30 race was fairly laggy, and the civic race was laggy in the first lap, with civics jumping all over the place, but seemed to go away for the race. I was surprised to see nothing this time.

I don't use the wheel! Curly have to tried using the clutch? You can swtich the clutch button to the A button, so you just hit it the same time you upshift or downshift. It'll cut off some time, I promise .

I just switched to manual a few weeks ago, I'll give the clutch a try. Do you still use X/B for down/up shifting?
