yeah, just like SACD, if it wasn't done well it can be really bad to a videophile. but honestly, regular Joe Blow wanna be videophile would still think it's kick ***.

I still buy superbit DVD's whenever possible. I'm too cheap to buy a HD DVD player, and sb dvds are pretty kick ***.

 

I've been tempted to get an HDDVD upgrade for the xbox because they're cheap, and for the novelty of it. no chance in HELL I'm shelling out the money for a blueray.

 

Im gonna get an HD drive for xbox for my computer have the best of both worlds, and I bet soon well see support on PS3 for usb HDDVD drives sweeeeet

 

I was holding out for a 360 w/ an on board HDDVD drive... but now I just don't give a **** anymore. I saw Transformers last night, but the last movie I saw before that was 300 in mid July. So 1 movie ea 3 mos.

Both I believe...I don't recall however. There have been so many things that seems like they should have swayed blue ray or HD one way or another. For me I thought it was a clincher that Sony will obviously not release a HD movie, and on top of that Disney said they would be supporting Blue Ray and not HD. Yet movies come out HD dvd. I feel like HD survives only because the "brand" recognition is already there. People feel like HD is what they are supposed to be looking for. So when someone mentions blue ray they think it's inferior or it sounds confusing etc. IMO, we have an HD player...I wouldn't get one, disks go bad so easily, there's no scratch protection on HD disks and small scratches or even the slightest factory flaw ends up messing with too much data.

On the other hand, because our Patent system is broken to hell and back, Sony is getting sued over their scratch protection...and after they sit for awhile (after being opened and exposed to ??) they grow mold...??????

I hope you have a TV capable of 1080p if you want to compare BluRay and HDDVD. Mine is only capable of 1080i.

As for 360 vs. PS3, for me the decision was easy. Halo 3 will never be on the PS3 and I've been a Halo Nerd since 2001. But otherwise I see the PS3 as ridiculously overpriced, not that the price of the 360 is not ridiculous, it is.

yeah its 1080p how do i get wireless without shelling out the 100 bucks for the MS adapter.

 

get an older linksys WRT54G router off ebay for cheap, dump DD-WRT firmware into it, and set it up as a wireless bridge.

dlink AP100+ will do a wireless bridge as well.

 

yeah, it's just easier on the older ones. follow the directions and it's not a big deal though. i've done it a couple times. works good.
