This is awesome man, good for you.

Are these files ready to slice or do they need to be gone over in Solidworks or Fusion360 to confirm that the model is solid before being sliced? I am new to 3D printing, but I think the scanning is great.

The answer to that is: it depends on the file you are referring to. I have made a strong effort to clearly note in each file what you will receive. If the file is noted as watertight, it is something you could directly print if you wanted to as there are no holes in the component. Other files are more or less just point cloud surfaces to use as design reference (not watertight) and you wouldn't be able to print as they have no thickness.

I can move it up the priority list if I know you want it. Give me a few weeks though as I recently just moved and am unpacking still

A simple one, but nice one to have added to the website tonight.

Looks nice. Whats the weight savings if I print it out in PA6-Carbon Fiber and mount it on my car?

Not as much as the weight savings I gained by removing it completely....

So you are saying I could download a miata and then 3dprint it?

I can't say that 3D printing a whole miata isn't possible... I will say that it isn't logical.

Anyways...

Got 5 more files posted last night. The first is a bit of a niche scan, but helpful for those fellow kswappers. If looking to turbo charge or do custom cooling system, fuel system, or catch can setups, it is helpful to know the approximate clearances that you have in the engine bay with the swap, so this file is good for that.

The next 4 are a bit more universal in nature. Scanned the entire left hand side of my car. You can order the full side or individual panels (front fender, door, rear quarter) if you don't want/need the full side.

I've been busy.... My right arm feels like it's going to fall off from holding scanner straight-armed for hours at a time, but the results have been nothing short of great.

BP4W shortblock is live: https://leftlanedesigns.net/collecti...tblock-3d-scan

NB front spindle: https://leftlanedesigns.net/collecti...pindle-3d-scan

NB rear mudflap: https://leftlanedesigns.net/collecti...udflap-3d-scan

NB front lower control arm: https://leftlanedesigns.net/collecti...ol-arm-3d-scan

NB front upper control arm: https://leftlanedesigns.net/collecti...ol-arm-3d-scan

NB rear lower control arm: https://leftlanedesigns.net/collecti...ol-arm-3d-scan

NB rear spindle: https://leftlanedesigns.net/collecti...pindle-3d-scan

NB rear upper control arm: https://leftlanedesigns.net/collecti...ol-arm-3d-scan

and last but not least, a nice package deal for those who just want all of the control arm and spindle scans at a discounted "suspension package" price: https://leftlanedesigns.net/collecti...kage-3d-scan-2

Any chance of getting interior scan of a stripped out NA Miata? Specifically the driver’s side. Working on race seat fitment and would love to be able to play around in Fusion 360 with a reasonably accurate mesh as a guide.

Not exactly NA, but I should have that on an NB chassis very very soon. I don't think the unibodies are much different between the two as far as the drive seat clearances go.

Are you ever planning to do something like a 3d printed widebody kit? How would that hold up to actual use?
