3inch exhaust too loud?

3inch exhaust too loud?
For those running 3inch cat-backs, do you have audio/video clips? A local exhaust shop gave me a $275 out-the-door quote for a 3inch system, but I'm a little worried about loudness.
I know "loudness" is subjective so put it this way, anything louder then the RoadsterSport exhaust is a little too loud for me.
Thanks.

TELL YOU WHAT.
BrainyScott promised to bring recording stuff to my dyno tuning session tomorrow. We'll record my 3" turbo back for you so you can see what a real free flowing +cat exhaust sounds like.
Frankly... I LOVE it. Not loud at all if it's done right.

I ran a Magnaflow cat, 2 foot long resonater and muffler on my old system. Barely louder than stock. The quietest Miata with aftermarket exhaust I had ever heard. I loved it. 3" of course.
Also, $275 will not get you a decent exhaust. I would imagine thats a crush bent mild steel with a single Flowmaster or something like that. Run away from that shop and find one that will cut up mandrel bends (stainless preferably) and do the system right.

it sounds great...exactly what I'd want, not loud at all.

Here's the whole system description:
2-1/4 turbine outlet expanding to 3"
3" cat in stock location, soon to upgrade to metal cat
3" dynomax 12" bullet race muffler (perf, not louvered) in resonator location
3" magnaflow 22" perf core muffler. It's almost too long and I'd use this one if I did it again.
3.5" Gibson stainless steel tip, cut shorter so it doesn't cut up your shins.
