Its original location is right next next to the ignitor.
Im not sure what its for but i accidently cut the wire for the plug on my other miata while i was doing my wiretuck.
I would like to know what this little buggers used for and if its absolutely needed?

It is the ignition "condenser" which is the olde fashioned term for a capacitor. It goes between +12 and GND at the igniter, and is supposed to smooth out voltage sags / spikes as the coils operate.
