Default 95 NA with a weird problem need help please!!

95 NA with a wier problem

Ok so I have a 92 NA that is getting a 2J swap and my dad has a bone stock 95 NA with a header no other mods. I normally have no problem fixing anything wrong with his car but this is strange.

Yesterday he calls and says the engine sounds like it is getting all air and no fuel it runs and drives but has no power at all. Later that day he says it is running fine now but non of the gauges work other than the spedo. I was thinking fuel filteror something along those lines until now. I thought maybe the gas tank had crap in it and was slowing pick up at the filter sock. I filled it up and it drove normal. I came back to the house and within a few minutes found it had blown the fuse for the gauge cluster. I was thinking awesome put a fuse in be done.

Now all the gauges work and the car runs like crap and I don't know why. It has good plugs and wires. The fuel preasure seems good I don't have a gauge but unhooked it and it is flowing well. Air filter and all the normal stuff is fine. Is there a sensor or something that would run through the gauge cluster that would cause this problem? Any help would be great.

Also wanted to add that if you start out slow and ease into the throttle everything is good or you can pump the throttle like a carborated car and it will work as well. Any Ideas?

Got an OBDII monitor? Has this situation triggered a MIL?

Ok I just drove the car and it is doing this strange thing. It feels like the cat is clogged but there is no cat on the car I removed it. There is no check engine light still and I still have no idea of why it is like this. Any more ideas?

My bet is that its electrical and affecting the ignition system, not really a fuel issue.

How is the negative battery terminal?

I am asumming electrical as well I am just trying to think what in the gauge cluster radio system would mess with it. If I take that fuse out all is well with it in it all goes crazy. I will check the battery teminal and see if it is loose.
