hi guys im new to the miata game, im an Mr2 owner so go easy on me, ive been trying to find a good source for miata engines but cant find one, i also noticed how hard it is to find these engines, if you know of any good engine let me know im in the market, and i also have a question. Can i run the earlier engines on my 00 without a problem im a pretty good mechanic so if it is doable i can take on the task thanks guys

Afaik any of the earlier 1.8 engines will work in your car if you swap the 99 head over.

Yes, your specific engine is harder to find, it is a BP4W and was only in the 99-00 cars in that specific configuration. It's also a higher compression engine than the 94-97, has a better flowing head, and a variable intake system.

Yes, it is possible to run a 94-97 engine in a 99 chassis, just takes time and $$$. You can get your project started using the search box up in the top right hand corner of your screen.
