replace the $.01 stud, bend the panel with some pliers, and buy another cam gear of ebay or something. you should of planned on taking it to a shop to get checked out anyways, I wouldn't buy a used head and just throw it on my motor...

How about this.. UPS will give you 100$ for the 'insurance' claim. I'll send you 100$ Plus shipping to my address and I'll fix the ******.
Cracked cam gear? Bent stud? Come on, man. Cam gear you can get from a junk yard for next to nothing, or I'll SEND YOU ONE if you cover shipping costs. Hell, I'll even powder coat it red, white, or black before sending it. I'll even trade you a good bare (might even be new, looks like it...) Bare BP05 head for the 99 head..
BTW, If the speed shop that does headwork for me can fix a multitude of cracks in a 1.8 head (five, to be precise) from massive engine overheating... Anything that happened to that can be fixed.
