Default All Metal Dipstick

Does anyone make an all metal dipstick that directly replaces those in a 1.6? I've done web searches and cannot seem to find one. Tired of broken plastic tops

Funny you should ask. I spent a couple of hours yesterday searching, and there aren't many alternatives.

A. Glue some stupid toy to the top. Kenny and Snoopy have been done, and there are others, I'm sure. Might as well name your car and come out of the closet.

B. Get the metal top from J.C.Whitney and fasten it on. Durable, but gets hot. http://www.jcwhitney.com/chrome-dips.../p2005401.jcwx

C. Buy a new one, have it break again. Treat it like a wear item, and just buy a new one every so often.

I have always planned on making one, but if it's metal, it gets hot. Plastic is gonna heat cycle and get brittle. Maybe try metal, but with a plasti-dip coating?

Short answer: if there is, I wasn't able to find it.

Does the California spec NB part not fit? I think it's the California version, where it's just longer and loops back around to form a handle.

It's not the Canadian version....it's the California-spec 99-00 NB dipstick that is all metal. But in order for it to work, you have to buy the dipstick tube as well.

That's what I said. I seem to be the only one to ever NOT break a plastic one though, so I'll wait until then to replace it.
