Alternate 'Circuit' for turbo cooling?
Posting this video from facebook because I thought it was interesting. Yes... it's a drift setup, but I was curious if anyone had any input whether something like this was feasible for our cars for better heat control.
Basically, this setup uses the power steering circuit connected to an oil cooler to cool the turbo in lieu of a turbo. Allows the coolant to run cooler. I'm guessing it requires an additional reservoir for additional PS fluid...but it's certainly different.... right?
Or is it just totally stupid and unnecessary? I don't know. That's why I'm asking!

how do you know it's "better heat control"?
that's a lot of complexity to prevent coking after shut down.
it looks completely inadequate -- think about it: it will only flow that tiny amount of fluid through the system when you're turning the wheel. That means it's very prone to boiling over.

I think it uses ATF, not PS fluid and I think there's an additional reservoir there that's not visible.
That said, I totally agree re: adding complexity, but I know drifters often have tons of over heating issues since they're not moving that fast so I wanted to see why someone would do this....because I honestly didn't know lol.
