Has anyone actually street-driven a non-PS V8 Miata? - MX-5 Miata Forum


Seriously... is most everyone over there completely clueless when it comes to the search function? Admittedly I am in an irritable mood today, but holy crap, the repetition is really annoying, and mind numbing.

 

God I hate that place.

I used to say "God I hate going there...but there's lots of good information when you need it"...but that's not even true anymore. Repetitive threads and the same know-it-alls spouting their gospels kill it for me.

I tried searching for the best compromise in a 14" tire all stinkin' weekend. Threads like this killed me...and wasted my time...and I never found what I was looking for. made me want to start my own thread, but I refrained. If I had I'm sure wallijohn or lance would have come in and told me my choices sucked anyways.

 

While I agree with you on searching, I would have had the same question with another 250 lbs up front. BTW, there is no way in hell that I'm giving up my PS. I'm retaining the stock Miata PS pump, though. Pretty easy to add a four rib pulley to the 5.0 pulley and run another belt. I wouldn't want a stock Miata without PS, let alone a heavier one. Yes, I'm a wimp and get no *****, but so be it.

What really bothers me in the Conversions section (as it is the only part that I visit over there anymore) is all of the "can I swap a XXX into a Miata? I think that it would be cool." Inevitably, if you look at the post count is is almost guaranteed that it is a single digit post-counter.

Well there are a lot more posts since I saw it first. Not that I wasn't already aware of this, but note to self: Don't take Miata advice from NC drivers.

I have been watching the engine swap forum lately and saw that comment. I don't agree with it, I like my PS, but I thought the analogy was funny as hell
