Anyone interested in a 99 Miata for ~2000?
I'm just posting this out here to maybe save a miata and have it go to a good home.
A buddy of mine works at a shop, and an old lady came in today and traded in her 99 Miata, red, with 125,694 miles on it. From what I can see, it's manual, has AC/PS, and power windows/locks. It's completely bone stock, the paint appears to be in good shape, the top looks good and the interior looks good. The pics he took were at fairly late at night, so they were not good quality, he is going to get me some more tomorrow. It has had 3 owners, and from the carfax it says MX5 anniversary Japan edition/base. Not sure what that means.
He can get it for 1500 + taxes/reg fees, so I figure it will come out to around 2,000. I'm thinking of picking it up off of him, however I have no interest in keeping it as it's an NB, and I prefer my NA. I also have no interest in making any money off of it, so if I have someone that's interested I'll sell it to you for whatever it costs (my buddy isn't gonna charge me anything more than it costs him to pick it up for me except lunch and a beer). I know this sounds weird, but I would rather it go to someone in the community, rather than end up in some yahoo's yard that thinks he can drift and ends up wrapping it around a pole. I also don't know what a good condition stock 99 Miata with AC/PS goes for, so not sure if it's even a good deal.
I'm in SoCal. Near LA.

My buddy didn't work today, but the car isn't out on the lot yet so I'm not concerned. I'll get in contact with everyone when I have more information. Since I see so many of you interested, I'm definitely going to just pick it up so I can pass it along.
