My injector harness had a short in it last summer which caused a huge dump of fuel into one of my cylinders. I am concerned this much fuel would ruin the core of the CAT and would like to see if I can buy a replacement. The downpipe for my MSM was made by ARTech Fabrication and I purchased it used from a previous MSM owner. The pipe has a v-band section for a CAT or straight pipe. Does anyone know if ABE is still producing exhausts for miatas? I thought he could either sell me a new v-band CAT pipe or point me to the place to purchase one.

I sent an email to his address but I did not hear anything back.

Thanks

Is it a metal substrate cat?

He just replied to me yesterday. Yes he is out there. He quoted me 80bucks for a straight pipe section through my cat. What a guy!

A fabricator would have to have the exhaust on hand to fabricate a new one, if you go that direction. Abe doesn't have a jig for MSM V-banded cats.

I'm about to buy an MSM 3" downpipe from him shortly so he is there.

But I'm getting it to a standard 2-bolt flange. It might almost be easier to go to a local shop(an actual good one) and get them to just swap it out on the car vs shipping it back to Abe

Abe wrote back and said he just needed to know the outside dimensions of current v-banded CAT then he could give me a quote.

@Curly I actually called your shop and it was suggested to contact Abe.

I am bringing the car in eventually to check out what the dead animal I hit did anyway, nothing like seeing a big dead critter on the post-apex exit of a curve on Skyline. Saw it too late and heard a thud followed by dead animal smell and a new vibration coming up thru the seat.
