Besides, even with twice the power he is claiming (300whp) the miata doesn't need wrinkle walls wider than 8-9" the extra 2" is to make up for his horrendously under sized *****.
*edit* misspelled wrinkle.

Well originally I was going to tell doppleganger he's an idiot because as much as he wants to run Sticky 275's all day long and "oh so much more rubber". axles will not put up with that. too thin, will snap. gonna happen.
I guess now I have to say that sergei is gonna fall into that trap. Start examining what you are gonna do about rear-end power delivery now.

uh...last I checked, our axles were not really a point of failure even with 275's, the diff. still is though...
Here is what I don't get, why is everyone so worried about breaking **** on their cars, if you never break anything, you are not driving it to its fullest potential. You brake something, you replace it with a better part, what's the big deal here?
You want to stay safe, do not go over 200whp, end of discussion.

The drag slicks look pretty bad *** on the car I won't lie. But A.) the miata is not a drag car and B.) even if you had the cohones to build a proper drag miata (which you aren't doing with the rest of the car - you just slapped drag slicks on there even though you're just going to snap your axles and destroy the rear end) it's going to look gay for 99% of it's life when you don't have those slicks on it.

If i felt like running 275's, i would...and i wouldn't be worried about breaking a diff. or axles. Why? Because i'm not going to be shocking the driveline from trying to drag race. No driveline shock when on a road course.
But im not saying to go to the extreme. But something like a 245 to fill "all that space" would look far less gay then the 195's/205's that 95%of people running SM's/flares.

I can't tell if you're serious. I hope not.
Just don't be a ***.
And Doppelgänger, totally agreed, like most of the other people on here. Fender flares are for wider tires, not for ones that are sliding around on the rim all gay-dee-m. It makes me sad that there are probably more widebody'd or flared miatas on 195's than there are running 245+.
