I've been shopping for compressors too, and was shocked to see the average at around $500. A few weeks ago I looked on Rosenthal Mazdas website and saw they had OEM units with clutch assembly for only $349. Thats a price I can handle a lot better than some other prices I was quoted ($525 for a NAPA reman unit).

I have a couple. Looks like Phil is covered for the 1.6 one above. I have a couple of 1.8. Probably could do $30 shipped.

Damn, didn't even think about doing that. I got mine working though, seems to do alright. Not as bad as I remember last year. New idler pulley bearing to install this week since the original one is crusty feeling and sounding.

Guys,
I am on the verge of being able to install my turbo kit. I pledged that I would not install it until I fixed all of the oil leaks! The last leak I have (thought it was engine oil) turned out to be the compressor leaking oil from behind the clutch. My car is a '90 that I converted to R134A. If anyone has a good (not leaking) compressor for a '90 - '93, I desperately need it! I'd be happy to pay for it and cover shipping of course. Shoot me a PM if you have one.
Thanks a bunch.
Todd
