Boost Level Survey
Hey all, I will be rebuilding my 1.8 this winter with a friend who is a DSMer. I just want to know what levels of boost people have been able to attain.
Please post a general list of parts on your build that have helped you reach this level. I know people have posted on their various builds. I am looking for some info as to how much air can be crammed into these motors. Please post both 1.6 and 1.8.

worked out for a while now and motor's still running after what...1-2 months? been boosted off 10lbs for approx 2-3 years

Off the top of my head, up to 12-15 psi reliably with stock internals and good engine management. Beyond that...
Big Boy needs big boy schoolin on how to search.
What would happen at your DSM forum if a newb with 20 posts came in with those requests. Info is out there. Look for it a little before posting demands.

As for engine management, I started my car up for the first time with MegaSquirt at midnight last night.
I am currently running 32psi on stock internals, using ITBs and DEI. My stock injectors can cope with the extra fuel needed, since 3 parallel connected Powercards are fixing all the fuel delivery I need. At 322rwhp, the car did get a bit hot in the engine bay, but since I filled it completely with foam, it was OK. Still trying to find a louder blow of valve though… On track I run DIY WI system, with a silicon hose connected from the intake manifold to one of the air vents in the dashboard. If I feel the intake temp go up to high, I just spit in the hose. It was tricky in the beginning, but since I went to an open helmet and added a funnel to the hose, it is all good.

I'm feeling a slight nice streak atm...
Big Boy... you need to do some homework for this reason.
PSI means nothing really... its power that breaks motors.
A DSM t25 at 10 psi does NOT equal a gt30 at 10psi... they flow different amounts of air and thus make different amounts of power.
You need to look at power levels people break at... not what PSI you can run.
ie: go back an relearn about turbo systems, turbo sizing, power goals, power potential, engine tuning and required supporting mods etc...
