Default can installing a BOV incorrectly result in a coolant leak?

Today, while i was waiting for my tires to be mounted, i decided it would be a good time to install my bosch bypass valve.

So here's how i had it set up (of course the return isnt really that long, and the bov was clamped tight)

and the vac lines:

If in install a return for the bypass valve, do i need to disconnect the valve cover breather?

I had this all setup as in the pics, but when i started the car, coolant started shooting out of the thermostat. When i went to unplug the temp. sensor, the whole thing pulled out. Could that be what caused the coolant to leak out? Is there any way i pressurized the system so coolant would bust the gasket? Or do you think it's just a bad tstat gasket?

I'd vote for the "hell no" option.

Did you plug the radiator overflow line into the MAP barb?

lol... definitely didn't. You can see it there in the pics...
I guess i'll stop by the dealer tomorrow and see if they have the tstat and gasket. Should i get a new thermostat, or just replace the gasket?

Not unless you messed with the thermostat during the install....even then installing it incorrectly wouldn't have resulted in the leak...stuipidity would have caused it. I'm voting coincidence.

Don't go to the dealer, just go to advance auto or somewhere like that thermostat and gasket will be less than 10 bucks.

I think that's among the best questions ever asked on this site.

Think it's sig worthy? Almost as good as my sig over on m.net "anti-freeze huh? i guess that's better than coolant" (was in regards to a heater core leak i believe.)

Depends, can your nose bleed from putting a condom on backwards?

Hey it's possible...if the "backwards" condom breaks and you proceed to bash your head against a wall when you get the news of pregnancy a few weeks later...not necessarily a direct cause for the bloody nose but hey you get the idea. LOL

Why would you install the recirculation hose back into the charge pipe?

I was wondering the same thing but assumed he just drew the line there because it's the general area its entering the pre-turbo charge pipe...then again with a question such as the thread title i guess we shouldn't assume anything. Doubt he'll respond in this thread again given some of the comments though.

EDIT: Nevermind, now that i look again i see the tape that appears to be covering the hole it was entering.

I saw two of them...just chose not to waste my time replying as i knew they would be deleted. I made a reference to that today in a different thread...what makes you say something about it here?
