do NOT run HIDs behind the turn signal lenses like I did unless it is modified to do so. If done, your lightpattern and range will be insufficient and you will not have a place for turnsignals. My car will hardly see night driving time since its my racecar, even if it is registered.

How did you modify your turn signal housings?

Bump for HID light pics!

I love the idea of actually having performance minded bodywork. I wish there was more of a market for that kinda stuff. IMO its just as important as tires and suspension.

Did you guys want just HID light pics or nighttime pics? I dont have many nighttime pics because as I said before, they suck at night.

It is as important and not only in opinion but tested proof that a decent amount of aero, even a little spoiler, will alter a car. I think its very important. I cant even imagine the amount of grip i'll have once my 15x9 6ULs come in and I decide if I want to go with 245s or 225s. Either way they will be of racing tire compound

I'd really like nighttime pics with the headlights on a garage door, and sitting in the car if you could.

Also, how did you modify the housings to work with the HID's?

Just because something looks nice doesnt mean its fragile . some people actually use carbon fiber splitters too. They're nicer looking but they are also stronger

The fact is that a cf splitter is something that 90% of the guys who regularly track their cars on their own coin do not run. ABS or plywood FTW.

So yeah, you are welcome, and I will stay. Thanks.

That's nice.

I like those pretty parts too. Don't be so upset that I'm not drooling over your recent purchase. Getting pissed because I make an observation based on experience is kind of a son of a bitch thing to do. Pull your princess panties out of your *** and get over yourself.

What is this, Highschool? I posted an update to my thread and get your sarcastic comments in return. Really how the hell did you expect me to react. I wish you'd be banned for being an idiot right now. You shouldnt have commented if you had anything not worthy of even putting out there

How do you figure? The APR splitters are a honeycomb composite and are very strong and thick. As long as some "give" is designed into the splitter, you will likely just scrape up the splitter without ripping it off. That's assuming that you don't plow the car, but you're pretty much screwed, regardless of the material at that point.

That's a random percentage. Have you been to a Redline Time Attack event? Their are APR splitters on a lot of those cars, as well as alumalite and plywood splitters. Matt Andrews miata and Jeff Lee's miata are using APR splitters and I know, from crewing Matt's car all season, that the splitter is pretty resilient.

Honestly, I like the development in this thread, as it is really inspiring. Too bad it is such a sensitive thread.

90% is 9 out of 10 splitters not being CF. Not so random. Redline is not really a typical event.

That being said, I am merely pointing out that a CF splitter, while awesome and having positive attributes, is an expensive risk. I have seen guys switch from alumite even to abs and to plywood after getting it all screwed up even partially off track. CF is not as forgiving upon impact either. And honestly, it does not take much to tear it off.

Banning me for stating what I did originally? Wow. Welcome to the interweb, dude. How insecure you are!

Thanks for this. Apparently this superslow guy thinks APR makes useless parts

This is determined by how it is mounted not its construction....
