Default Changing Transmission Fluid

Well, i'm TRYING to change the 75-90 oil in my manual transmission today but i've never checked the level since i bought the car (about three months ago) and i honestly dont wanna think about the last time it was probably done, so the level check plug is in there, GOOD!! anyone got any tips for breaking this damn thing loose?

Also.....what type of fluid is in the turret, is it the same 75-90?

thanks

Use whatever...some people actually pack it with grease now. Try using a large cresent wrench on the transmission fill plug.

9/16ths 8 point socket from craftsman if its too tight for vise grips adjustable etc. Just dont drain it until you know you can get the fill plug out or your screwed. First time for me a short breaker bar did the trick just make sure you have the socket

Sounds like its rounded off. Mine fits perfect. Time to lock some vice grips on it. Also I use the same tranny fluid in my turret, If I bother to evn do it

I just used a 19" pipe wrench. A bit of overkill but did the job easily! Is still enough room in there to work even with the massive wrench head.

The transmission holds 2.1 quarts so should have enough left over to use in the turret. Not really critical what you use in the turret.
