Default Check me on this 15x10 front fender idea

Been looking at stepping up to 15x10+25 245s once I make the swap to EFR power on my street build that will see some occasional autox. I was split between going the greg peters route, doing a massive roll/pull, and praying I don't ever spin, or just biting the bullet and grabbing flares. Currently I'm running 15x9+36 225s only with cut tabs, and have no rubbing, but consensus is that I should expect no luck when going any larger. Personally I'm a fan of the OEM fenders for looks but also hate having any mechanical concerns.

Just ran across some pics of a guy who cut his stock fenders like such that got me thinking:

(lower section is pulled back and attached. Looks like it does not add any fender well rubbing concerns)

I've also seen pics of over fenders like this:

And additionally read that some of the track guys have run fenders like such to successfully clear 15x10 245s without much fender work:

With all that in mind, I'm thinking if you roll the fenders with a light pull then make the cut in photo 1, you could fab a bracket to push the fender out at the green x (blue too if needed) and gain some additional clearance that would avoid issues.
For those that have experience working with these fenders, is this idea Mongolian stir fry or burnt rice?
