Which O2 sensor are you replacing? Looks like that code is for the front one, closest to the engine. This probably isn't the best place for OBDII advise, most of us replaced the ECU and threw that sensor away.

Sounds like there is a break in the wiring going back to the ECU.

Given that info I have to wonder if you have an "air:fuel problem" rather than an "air:fuel sensor problem". Do the spark plugs all look the same? Do they look black? There isn't a whole lot that can make the car dump too much fuel. Can a fpr fail closed so the pressure goes crazy?

The fuel pressure regulator, it's in the gas tank on NB's. The fuel pump flows enough for +100psi and the pressure regulator bleeds off excess pressure so you maintain a constant ~60psi. I've had an o-ring blow on one so it leaked and wouldn't maintain enough fuel pressure so the car run crazy lean. Not sure if it would fail so it increases fuel pressure, but I couldn't think of a whole lot of other reasons you'd be dumping that much gas.
