Default Complete '00 motor, talk me out of this

Guy I know just bought a complete '00 motor and I thought of snagging it up. Everything there minus the wiring harness. Intake, exhaust, TB etc. are there. 135k kilometers, has been run on LPG (not sure for how long). Asking €600 for it. Should I go for it or run for the hills?

99-00 motors aren't usually for sale here, let alone the '99 head (which is what I'm really after) for decent prices.

Cliffs: buy '00 motor w/ 135k kms that has run on LPG for €600 yay or nay?

Run. LPG kills the valves.

I know, we've all heard the stories. Plan is to rebuild the head/motor. Would you still advise against it?

Well, if you are going for an all-out rebuild, I don't see why not.

Too much fab involved in making a RHD motor fit . Besides, the shipping won't be worth it. I'm sleeping on it and see how I feel about it tomorrow.

? You can buy whole car for the money, part it and still have the same money in your hand plus free engine. Just look how much there is mx's for sale in UK.

I don't have the space and time to buy a complete car, part everything out and wait for every little ******* piece to be sold just to break even. Then end up with an empty shell that I wont use and will cost me to get rid of.

I bought the motor and I'm getting it delivered sometime in January.

I have a 99 head..make me an offer. I was planning on running it with wilder cams on my 01+, but don't think I'll ever go through with that plan. Regrinds are 300E from dBilas.
