boost kills trannys fast huh.........?
well i just finish tunning it at 12psi on the dyno..... feels great so i leave the dyno and i say what the hell let see how it feels. punch it in first light them up throw second tires light up again for a lil then third for a lil then let off. do it a couple times and i start to drive normal and hit it again and second gear grinds like a champ and the gear box is starting to feel a lil notchy. so i guess my tranny let go......... ill look for another one and rebuild this one while it out. has anybody else toast trannys that fast i mean i just finish the boost set up and my first time pushin the tranny hard on boost....

i know you can at a certain rpm sincro matches fine. but why risk it and not catch it and go about scratching your gear. i see no reason unless you have dog box. but anyways to answer the question i am shifting with the clutch......

Nah man, just giving you a hard time about it. I purposely don't make hard shifts from 1st to 2nd because i don't like spending money on things I don't have to. I much prefer the top speed in 2nd to the top speed in 1st anyway so it just makes sense to not destroy 1st so that I can get to 2nd faster anyway.
Maybe you can try starting it 2nd from now on. Corky recommends it, though i personally don't like it, even with my 4.30 rear.

I have a ton of gear lash noise in my 150k mile tans...I should probably line up something newer...right?
How difficult is it to build these transmissions? I'd like to crack one open and send it out for cryo...I bet that will help significantly.
