Coolant Temp Gauge Wrong.

My coolant temp gauge goes straight past the H on my dash as soon as I turn on the ignition. Even when the engine is ice cold. What's the most likely culprit?

Somthing (like the signal wire) is probably shorted to ground. Could be sender or gauge though.
