Default Dataloggers - options?

I'm looking for a datalogger/display to augment the TECgt's on-board-datalogging. I've been looking at AiM sports loggers but, to be honest, they are more than I need (although very cool). Just need datalogging ability and main engine functions display.

So does anyone have experience of the aim loggers? Or have any good ideas for a cheaper alternative?

The TECgt supports CAN and RS232 protocol.

Megasquirt V2.2 board with LCD touchscreen. Less than $600 and you can do whatever you want with it.

Look into the innovate motorsports loggers. Lots of options and pretty reasonable pricing.

Sounds good. I'm looking at their website but can't see any loggers? Any links?

How would this work? How could I use the MS V2.2 board and LCD touch screen as a datalogger?

You hook everything up except the fuel and spark outputs. You then hook it up to a palm and datalog the heck out of everything in your engine including CLT, IAT, timing, rpm, tps, egt, knock, injector duty and on and on and on. I mean you can even hook it up to the innovate series products and datalog wheel speed and all kinds of crazy ****.
You won't be using it as a lap timer but you can record everything else.

Use the LCD screen to display all the beautiful gauges, the palm is only used to record the info to memory. Palms can be had for $20 on ebay.

So really if you just want to datalog and not look at the gauges MS could provide you. You could get the V2.2 board for like $130 i think and the $20 palm and datalog everything you could ever want. That doesn't include the extra sensors for egt and whatnot but you get the idea.

OK. I guess I should explain that my main reason for doing this is to avoid dragging a laptop around with me. I'd like to have a simple way of logging the TECgt's serial output when I want to with the flick of a switch. So ideally I am looking for a logger that I simply plug the TECgt's serial cable into. Having a display would be a bonus but I can always re-run the log on winTEC4s virtual dash or analyze it in DLL when I get home if that is not possible.

The AiM unit meets those criteria (I can just plug in the TECs serial cable and it'll do the business), but it is expensive if you buy the 8 or 16mb version (and that's not a huge amount of memory).

Something like this might do the trick. I'll drop them an email to check.

It ain't pretty and doesn't have a display, but it's cheap and has a large capacity.

Any better suggestions welcomed.
