Default DDM Works in 99 NB

I'm looking for a better solution to aftermarket radio/gauge installation. Why are there a lot of plastic snap together junk kits but no powder coated stainless DDM niceness for the early NB.

Has anybody "MADE" one of the NA DDM units work with an NB dash? I'll take some measurements but by the looks of it the space in the NB dash is close to the size of the DDM I have in my NA.

If I was to fold the tabs in on the sides and bolt, weld, glue, tie it to the two supports that surround the radio would this be doable or unpossible?

Its more than just the mounting points that are different, for the NAs (or maybe most NAs like 90-95) the hole isn't a proper DIN size. That's why the trackdog angled gauge mount (that I really wanted) wouldn't fit and why I ended up with the DDM piece.

FWIW the DDM panel looks beautiful but doesn't position the gauges for easiest viewing. The angled type would make them easier to see.

How does the plate mount to the car? What do those screws, screw into? Does this still require the use of a plastic DIN mount for the radio?

There's a backing plate that sits behind the dash bezel that the plate screws into.

Not trying to dump on them but I ordered a couple things recently off the web site and got no reply nor products after several emails. Got a Paypal notification of payment so that part works... Paypal made good on it but not a way to run a business.

But, the products look good from what I saw online.

I like my DDM works in my NA. I think the gauges are easily visible, but i also have gauges on top of the radio.

I placed an order from them on April 29th. Haven't received my item yet. To Leon's credit, i DID receive an email response fairly quickly when i inquired as to the status on May 16th. Apparently he works as a volunteer firefighter and was fighting wildfires in California, he said it might be another 2 weeks.

I sent another inquiry today, we'll see what happens. I NEED this within about 2 weeks because i'm not about to drive across the country with that piece of **** a-pillar pod that FM sells.

I would've gladly given them a couple more weeks if I'd gotten some sort of reply. I sent both partners emails directly and one each to the official email addresses on different days. I hope your experience is better.

I still am looking for a solution that looks as good.
