De-Powering a power steering rack.
Since the general consensus is that the factory powered rack is "overpowered", is there any way to correct this, short of depowering? Something like a smaller pulley to reduce the output of the pump? Some sort of flow restrictor?
I put P/S on my car because the manual rack was very hard to turn. It feels like it's grinding a bit when you turn the input shaft. I haven't yet bothered to open it up and see if it's bent, or just needs to be lubed.

If it feels like it's grinding then somethings 'wrong'.
I've depowered my rack FM Style and it's smooooth.
I also removed the AC, all crap in a car in Ireland and we have some of the BEST corners in Europe !

P.S. In case you have forgotten where the shift key is, there are two of them. One next to the "z" key and one next to the "/" key. Use them.
On the more productive side. I looped my lines and the difference is like the first time you **** a bitch without a rubber. Amazing.

you see, there was this one day that i went to the beach and i was having the time of my life guys!1! i made a hello kitty sand castle, and drifted my toy cars for hours on end in the sand just like my favorite jaydeem *******s. i got so exited that i started rolling around in the sand just enjoying the fresh sea air and warm sand caressing my fragile body. i had to go home afterwards because my mom told me to, so i went and sat in my room watching initial d. i started to get this horrible feeling, a searing, burning, horrendous feeling, like someone was grating up my insides, and i just had to go and check it out in the bathroom. i looked into my pants and to my great dismay, my vagina was filled with sand!1!1!!!1! i've been using vagisil for a whole month and still no luck, my life has been a living hell lately.

I'm depowering my rack tomorrow as well as testing out some superpro polyurethane steering rack bushings.
I'm using the new miataroadster rack depowering kit. Pretty simple. Just uses bolts instead of the looped lines.
How much PS fluid should be left, or should I drain it?

uh ok ******** is such a bad thing. but i have now driven depowered power steering rack manual rack and power rack i honestly have fallen in love with the depowered power rack not just looped lines but actually depowered the correct way removing the seals.
