What? Most cars do the same thing. If battery voltage drops below a certain number the light turns on. That's why your light is on when you're KOEO.

good **** for replacing it already. hopefully you don't have any electrical issues anymore.
my alternator bolt broke (the one on the bottom) and the hole needed to be re-tapped.

Car is back on line...at least it started up. Surprisingly I didn't need to jump/roll start the car. There was just enough juice in the batt. to get it turned over. Will be taking the car out soon.

check your grounds too. sometimes a bad connection or old battery can work an old alternator to its death!
