Just like you, I'm an unfortunate product of the 80s.

Get a huge wing so your poz posse doesn't whine when they have to help push your busted-*** hooptie off the track while real men (Porsche owners) do donuts around your sorry ***.

Some thoughts from the aeronautical engineering student (graduating in a month and my final project for school is a wing for an ISMA circle tracker)

Vortex generators:
good: keeps flow on the car
bad: creates drag to do this

Some thoughts on spoiler:
If you put a spoiler on the back of the trunk it will create a pressure zone that will move the flow down to the deck. As mentioned above you want a sharp trailing edge to reduce drag. And as everybody else has said if you put a wing up in the relatively undisturbed flow the down force will be greater, however with greater down force always comes greater drag. Provided there are things you can do to optimize the flow and reduce your drag resulting in a higher lift over drag ratio.

Thoughts on drag:
If you are really worried about drag make the bottom of your car flat. In other words put a big plate under it and make it smooth. This is where most of your drag will be generated on most automobiles. If you do this it will also help increase the effectiveness of your trunk spoiler due to less disturbed and more laminar flow behind the spoiler (generally this means faster and lower pressure) This also means that you may incur a slight amount of down force if you clean up underneath the car as well.

But then Hustler wouldn't be Hustler would he?!? Overthinking apparently leads to the anger and e-thugging I enjoy and appreciate.

2nd trunk w/ wing. I'm planning on Yarning up the back window and experimenting with VG's on my hardtop. Trouble is the airtab ones are too big and ghey looking. I'm thinking about just some little DIY aluminum tabs angled slightly.

Balaklava? I thought he was talking about Baklava the dessert.
